Are your emotions being driven by the present moment, or by old stories and fears replaying in your mind?

your past doesn't define who you are

Are your emotions being driven by the present moment, or by old stories and fears replaying in your mind?

It's important to recognize the source of our emotions in order to better understand and address them.

Knowing where they come from and how to navigate them is essential for having a healthy relationship with them and create a life that's rooted in peace(insert your own positive wording).

Sometimes our reactions are based on past experiences (known or forgotten) that have shaped our beliefs and perceptions. We don't need to know what exactly created a trigger, as this can take years to sort out and usually ends up pinning the blame on someone. This is disempowering and keeps you stuck in a negative feeling. It's like a dog chasing its tail. Simply understanding that your brain has logged an occurrence or possibly years of patterns, and a belief is formed as something familiar and it will do what's necessary to keep you safe. Your mind's job is to bring up thoughts to protect you from being hurt (it has one job to keep you alive). It's that simple.

When we make peace with our past and focus on what we can control, simply how to respond to life right here right now from your values, morals, and principles, this conscious awareness can help us break free from the cycle of negative thought patterns and reactions, allowing us to respond more thoughtfully and authentically to the present moment.

You aren't your past.

You're not what's been done to you.

You're not your stories.

You're not your fears.

Every thought you think isn't who you are.

You're bigger than all that. You are capable of creating a new narrative for yourself. You have the power to shape your own story and define who you truly are. Your past does not define your present, and you have the strength to overcome any challenges that come your way.

Embrace your true self and believe in your potential. You are capable of achieving greatness and living a fulfilling life.

Does this seem impossible or are you hearing yourself think "easier said than done"? What's the outcome believing that it will be hard, difficult or impossible? It's a self fulfilling prophecy believing that something will be hard, difficult, or impossible can often become a self-fulfilling prophecy. When we approach a task with the mindset that it will be challenging, we may unintentionally sabotage our own efforts. Our brain hears that command and like a genie in a bottle, it grants that wish.

Our negative beliefs can affect our motivation, confidence, and ultimately our ability to succeed. It's important to challenge these limiting beliefs and instead adopt a growth mindset that allows for the possibility of success and achievement.
