What I found when people want something bad enough nothing will stop them.
We all know that individual that wants something and complains that they don't have it for YEARS!
What's between where they are and what they desire?
Thought.
That's it, it's not "motivation" "drive" "grit" "good luck" "good genes" "willpower"... it's what a person thinks and believes about themselves and what they are capable of.
That's it.
Nothing fancy, no pills, potion, lotion, injection, book, program or course.
It boils down to self belief. Self belief is pure thought.
When considering the hypothetical scenario of a person who frequently complains about not having what they desire, it is important to also acknowledge the things that they do possess. There is likely at least one aspect of their life that comes easy to them, something that they effortlessly excel at without even realizing it. This could be anything from a skill they have mastered, a positive trait they possess, or a habit they have cultivated over time.
It is often the case that individuals excel in areas where they have a strong desire or passion. They may have effortlessly developed this skill or habit because it aligns with their values and beliefs, making it a natural part of who they are. This effortless success may go unnoticed by both the individual and those around them, as it is simply a part of their identity.
Recognizing how one does something well in their life is the key to adding something else in their life, by recognizing their super power strength, what the are good at. This could be something a simple as being good at video games. To be good at a video game, one must possess a variety of skills that go beyond just hand-eye coordination. Patience is key when facing challenging levels or opponents, as success often requires multiple attempts to master a particular strategy or technique. Determination is also crucial, as the drive to improve and overcome obstacles is what separates average players from those who excel. Commitment is another important factor, as dedicating time and effort to practice and hone one's skills is essential for long-term success in any competitive gaming environment. Additionally, adaptability, quick thinking, and strategic thinking are all valuable skills that can help a player excel in the fast-paced and ever-evolving world of video games. So see anything a person is great at we can extract out talents and super powers that can be directed towards something else.
It's shifting the focus away from what is lacking in their life, and instead highlighting what they are really good at. Understanding their values and tapping into their strengths. By acknowledging and celebrating these strengths, the individual can understand how their brain and mind work, and how using this super power to move towards doing something else new that leads to having or experiencing more of what they want in their life.
Everyone does something well, it's becoming curious and investigating how that came about.
The thing this person desires in their life, what they want to change for instance, is also important to listen to how they speak about doing it, acquiring it, and working towards it. If it's negative, sounds painful, hard, difficult, out of reach, impossible, scary, will make you cry, and you never did it, and has a heaviness about it, well that circles back to thought and self-belief. Anyone thinking and believing that all these negative words will certainly stay put and not take any action. Think of it as a ride at an amusement park. This ride will be painful, hard, difficult, out of reach, impossible, scary, will make you cry, and has a heaviness about it, would you pay money and go on that rollercoaster? I don't think so.
When people strongly desire something, determination comes naturally without effort. This unlocks unwavering perseverance, allowing them to conquer any challenges or setbacks they may face.
If this seems all too complicated and doesn't quite land, it could be that the dream or desire being pursued is either too large or perhaps not fully in alignment with one's core values. It is important to recognize that sometimes the desires we chase may not truly belong to us, and if they are out of alignment, there may be a continuous pattern of resistance and self-sabotage. It's essential to take a step back and reassess whether the pursuit is truly serving our highest good and aligning with our authentic self. By doing so, we can ensure that our actions are in harmony with our values, leading to a more fulfilling and purpose-driven life.
Pursuing someone else's dreams will create a life that's not only miserable but also create resentment.
What a person thinks and believes that they are capable of is the secret to unwavering drive and dedication.
The authentic and genuine passion and commitment that individuals have towards their goals is what distinguishes them and enables them to overcome any obstacles they face, coming out stronger and more resilient.
When you want something bad enough, where the pain is so raw, so painful if you stay put and the pain of change is more inviting, you'll change.
